Ethan Bertrand

Ethan Bertrand is currently serving as the District Director for Assemblymember Gregg Hart in the California State Assembly. In this role, he focuses on various programs and policies, particularly those related to criminal justice, public safety, homelessness, mental health, and equity.34
Before his current position, Bertrand was notably involved in local governance as the founding board president of the Isla Vista Community Services District (IVCSD), where he served for six years. His tenure there was marked by a commitment to community engagement and public safety reform, including initiatives that addressed the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community and the establishment of safety resources following community tragedies.12
Bertrand's background includes experience as a campaign intern for former Congresswoman Lois Capps and as a district representative for former 2nd District Supervisor Gregg Hart. He has a strong educational foundation, having moved to California to study at Santa Barbara City College and later transferring to UC Santa Barbara.12
