Esko Kurvinen

Esko Kurvinen is a designer and ethnographer with a passion for understanding human behavior. With a diverse professional background, he has experience in user-centric design, qualitative and quantitative research, workplace studies, data-driven design, prototyping, experimentation, and growth hacking in various technology-intensive fields.
Kurvinen has studied at the Taideteollinen korkeakoulu-Konstindustriella högskolan, where he earned his degrees in DA and MA in Industrial Design. Throughout his professional career, Kurvinen has worked on a wide range of projects, including mobile multimedia messaging, public touch displays, social media, mobile payments and banking, IPTV services, webshops and self-service portals, and workplace studies.
Kurvinen is a former Research Manager at Elisa Oyj and a former Research Scientist at the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology. He has also worked as a Researcher at the University of Art and Design Helsinki and the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology. Kurvinen has practical experience in Service Design, having worked as Service Design Lead, Corporate Customers at Elisa Oyj.
As a researcher and designer, Kurvinen has a strong belief that any process or sequence of human interactions can be observed and analyzed. Human activities that are not properly understood cannot be improved systematically.
