Erin Regan
Firefighter Paramedic at Los Angeles County Fire Department
Erin Regan is a firefighter-paramedic with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. She joined the department in 2008 and became a paramedic in 2011.12 Regan works out of Rolling Hills Estates Fire Station 106 and has been with the department for 15 years.12
Prior to her firefighting career, Regan was a professional soccer player. She played as a goalkeeper for the Washington Freedom in the Women's United Soccer Association and was a first-team All ACC goalkeeper on the women's soccer team at Wake Forest University.13
Regan is passionate about increasing the representation of women in firefighting. She is one of only 79 female firefighters among the 3,400 firefighters in the Los Angeles County Fire Department.12 To address this disparity, she helped create the Girls Fire Camp program, which gives girls ages 8 to 18 the opportunity to shadow professional firefighters.2
In her role as a firefighter-paramedic, Regan has responded to numerous emergencies, including the high-profile accident involving Tiger Woods in February 2021.1 She emphasizes the teamwork aspect of firefighting and draws parallels between her experiences in soccer and her current profession.1
Regan is married to Kelly, an artist, and they have an 11-year-old son named Sam.1 She continues to advocate for increased participation of women in firefighting and serves as a role model for aspiring female firefighters.2
