Erika Dalya Massaquoi is a renowned designer, curator, and CEO of The OULA Company, an endeavor she established in 2015. The OULA Company specializes in crafting high-quality women's clothing inspired by the timeless fashion legacy of her artist/activist mother from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Handmade in the USA, OULA's distinct style features vibrant colors and patterns, celebrating black joy at its core.
In addition to her work at The OULA Company, Erika has an illustrious career in the art world. Her curatorial projects have graced prestigious institutions like the Seattle Art Museum, the Frye Art Museum, MIT List Visual Arts Center, and the Studio Museum in Harlem. She has also held key curatorial positions at the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of the Moving Image.
Erika Massaquoi's passion for education is evident through her teaching engagements at esteemed universities such as Yale, New York University, and The New School for Social Research. Furthermore, she served as the Assistant Dean of the School of Art & Design at The Fashion Institute of Technology, showcasing her commitment to nurturing artistic talent.
