Erik Meijering
Professor of Biomedical Image Computing
Erik Meijering is a Professor of Biomedical Image Computing at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia. His research focuses on computer vision, image analysis, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, particularly deep learning, applied to biomedical imaging, bioimage informatics, and medical image analytics. With a diverse academic background, Erik pursued his PhD in Medical Image Analysis at Utrecht University and completed his MSc in Electrical Engineering at Delft University of Technology. Prior to his current position at UNSW, he held roles as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at Erasmus MC, a Postdoctoral Fellow at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, and a PhD Student at University Medical Center Utrecht. Erik is also a passionate writer, software programmer, website developer, and video editor, skills that have complemented both his academic and personal interests.
