Erik Gatenholm is a Swedish-American entrepreneur and the co-founder and CEO of CELLINK, a leading bioconvergence company.13 Born in Sweden and raised in Blacksburg, Virginia, Gatenholm has made significant contributions to the field of 3D bioprinting.5
At the age of 28, Gatenholm co-founded CELLINK in 2016, creating the world's first universal bioprinting technology.1 The company designs state-of-the-art life science technologies used in over 2000 labs across more than 65 countries, including prestigious institutions like Harvard, MIT, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, and the FDA.1
Gatenholm's entrepreneurial journey began at 18 when he started his first biomedical device company, BC Genesis, in Virginia.2 He holds a degree in Business Management from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Gothenburg University.35
