    Erich P. Ippen is an Elihu Thomson Professor of Electrical Engineering Emeritus and Professor of Physics Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is a principal investigator in the Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE) at MIT.23
