Professor of Finance at ISC Paris
Eric Thorez is a seasoned professional with a strong background in finance, academia, and consulting.
Currently serving as a full Professor of Finance at ISC Paris Business School, he is also the Head of the Financial specializations within the MSc program.
He obtained his PhD in Finance from Paris Dauphine University, focusing his research on Governance, Banking risk, and Financial Markets, with particular expertise in CDS (Credit Default Swap) and the forecasting of bank default probabilities.
Prior to his academic career, Eric worked in the Consulting and Audit sector, holding leadership positions at renowned firms such as Ernst and Young, Capgemini, and CSC, where he specialized in Banking and Insurance Business.
His practical experience in strategic consulting complements his academic prowess, enhancing his ability to teach Finance effectively in English and French.
In addition to his academic and professional roles, Eric is a familiar face in media discussions on Banking, Finance, Regulation, Governance, and Higher Education.
He is also actively involved in directorial positions on various Boards of Directors.
Beyond his professional life, Eric embraces his passions for sailing, skiing, rowing, and swimming on a regular basis.
As a bilingual individual fluent in English and French, and proficient in German, Eric is actively engaged in multiple finance and economy clubs.
His academic journey includes completing a PhD in Finance, a Master's degree in Finance specializing in Financial Markets, Corporate Finance, and Banking Risks, and a Master's degree in IS & Finance.
His educational foundation also includes a Master's degree in Physics and IT from Paris-Sud University (Paris XI).
