Eric Sutherland

Eric Sutherland is a Senior Health Economist at the OECD, leading efforts in Digital Health.14 He previously served as the Executive Director of the pan-Canadian Health Data Strategy at the Public Health Agency of Canada from August 2020 to November 2022.4 In this role, he:

1. Catalyzed an Expert Advisory Group for a pan-Canadian Health Data Strategy
2. Facilitated engagements with various stakeholders to gather feedback on priority areas
3. Orchestrated a task group to develop specific commitments and action plans
4. Influenced organizations advancing data initiatives across Canada4

Prior to this, Sutherland held positions as:

• Executive Director of Data Governance Strategy at the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) from September 2018 to August 20204
• Director of Information Management Strategy and Policy at the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care from January 2017 to August 20184
