Long-Term Stock Exchange (LTSE):: Ries's Lean Startup concept inspired the creation of the Long-Term Stock Exchange (LTSE).1 The LTSE's mission is to support businesses in creating long-term prosperity and lasting impact, moving away from the prioritization of short-term gains.2 The LTSE has a set of five SEC-approved principles that encourage companies to commit to longer-term strategies.2
The five principles are:
- Stakeholders Long-term focused companies should consider a broader group of stakeholders and the critical role they play in one another’s success.2
- Strategy Long-term focused companies should measure success in years and decades and prioritize long-term decision making.2
- Compensation Long-term focused companies should align executive compensation and board compensation with long-term performance.2
- Governance Boards of directors of long-term focused companies should be engaged in and have explicit oversight of long-term strategy.2
- Investors Long-term focused companies should engage with their long-term shareholders.2
Ries also hosts "The Eric Ries Show," a podcast featuring conversations with leaders, entrepreneurs, and visionaries who are working to create a new ecosystem of organizations committed to growth with purpose.27
