Eric Oancea

Eric Oancea is a dedicated professional working towards decarbonising the food industry through Root, aiming to build a carbon OS for all food system participants from growers to retailers.

Being labeled as a TCK (Third Culture Kid), Eric has gained experience living, studying, and working in over 10 countries, shaping a global perspective.

His educational background includes achieving the Highest GPA of the year at various International German Schools and obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Business & Economics with outstanding Swiss GPA at the University of St.Gallen, along with an exchange program in Economics at Singapore Management University.

Eric's professional journey features roles such as Co-Founder & Managing Director at Root Global, and previous positions at notable organizations like BCG Digital Ventures, CREANDUM, Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Company, Antler, Bloomberg LP, and Oliver Wyman, showcasing a diverse range of experiences in finance, consulting, and venture building.

Additionally, Eric has demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by founding cocoon.community and organizing TEDxHSG, while also venturing into sales and fundraising at different points in his career.
