Eric Mitchell

Eric Mitchell is the President of the Alliance to End Hunger, a coalition of over 100 national organizations working to end hunger in the U.S. and globally.12 He was appointed to this role in November 2023, after serving as the organization's Executive Director since 2020.23

Mitchell has an extensive background in government relations and advocacy:

1. He previously served as Director of Government Relations for Adtalem Global Education (2018-2020).3
2. He was Director of Government Relations at Bread for the World for six years (2012-2018).13
3. Earlier in his career, he was Vice President of Government Relations at Russ Reid Company (2005-2012).3

Mitchell began his political career on Capitol Hill, serving as:

• Senior Policy Advisor to U.S. Congressman John Lewis (2001-2005)13
• Legislative Assistant to U.S. Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (1998-2001)13

He is a graduate of Howard University, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science (1994-1998).3 Mitchell has been recognized for his influential work, including being named in The Root 100 most influential African Americans under 40 in 2014 and as a "Top Lobbyist" from 2014-2019 by The Hill newspaper.1
