Device Specification and Management

I lead a cross-functional team (Product - UX - Engineering) which is responsible for device specification and management tools.   Our team ensures that devices are accurately specified and managed throughout the contract lifecycle so that our customers receive maximum value from our telematics offerings.  We utilize Lean Agile principles to discover opportunities to create outcomes which advance toward our vision, then design and deliver products which move the needle on our success metrics.

Asset Tracking Hardware

I'm responsible for all aspects of Verizon Connect's Asset Tracking hardware device products.  In this role, I'm responsible for the development of the enterprise's asset management strategy; the establishment and  delivery of an outcomes-based roadmap; and the introduction of products which meet customer needs and achieve business goals.  My portfolio's activities are directed by customer-centric, design-driven principles, in accordance with Lean Startup / Lean Agile methodologies.  I lead a cross-functional team which is responsible for all UX research, hardware and firmware development, and field engineering.  We work closely with our counterparts who are responsible for Asset Tracking software.

Verizon Connect

I’m responsible for the Home Services HDE / HDI Lead Management product.  This product owns the Lead Entry to Sales Consultation portion of the lifecycle for the Home Depot Interiors (HDI) and Home Depot Exteriors (HDE) businesses.

I manage a Lean Agile Balanced Team, including a UX designer and twelve Engineers.  My team follows the principles of Lean Agile / Lean Startup / Extreme Programming (XP) methodology.

My team is responsible for the entire product lifecycle, including strategic roadmap development, in conjunction with P&L leadership; Discovery & Framing for each feature; MVP design and inception with stakeholders, which include Senior Directors through users; User Story creation and grooming in Pivotal Tracker; Release Planning, communications and deployment; and on-going product support.

My product’s features include: several integrations to other Home Depot products; a full-featured Call Center system; text and email communications; complex in-home sales consultation appointment scheduling and routing, including Sales Consultant assignment optimization; and a Sales Recovery initiative by which Services leads are re-contacted to revive sales opportunities.

My product transformed the Home Services business, by replacing legacy products with a Salesforce-based platform, which is a hybrid of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.  My product improved Call Center efficiency by over 10%.  Sales Recovery financial results improved 120% when our product replaced the previous manual process.

I was the Lead Business Analyst for the Enhanced Tool Rental product.

This product supported the entire rental lifecycle, from initial rental and deposit collection through tool return, final payment and collections.  It transformed the Tool Rental business to paperless contracts, thereby delivering significant cost savings and process simplification.

My team utilized Agile Scrum methodology, following a two-week sprint duration.  I originally managed our User Stories in Version 1.  I then transitioned them to Jira.  I used SQL to do all data analysis necessary to determine business performance as we implemented changes to the product.

We were responsible for the entire product lifecycle, including strategic scope development in conjunction with Tool Rental business leadership; User Story creation and grooming; release planning, communications and deployment, and on-going product support.

I was a member of a deployment team who travelled to Canada to implement the product in stores.

The product’s features included integration with Point of Sale for deposits, payments and refunds, and integration with other Tool Rental products.

RF Advantage defined and delivered Supply Chain Management, Asset Management, Manufacturing and Product Development solutions enabled by RFID and other wireless technologies.  It also offered consulting services in its core competencies.

I served as technology and business process consultant to several clients, including AT&T.

My methodology for designing, developing and deploying solutions utilized a globally outsourced development relationship with engineers in China.  Software products were developed utilizing and onshore – offshore engineering model, with offshore software testing being integrated with onshore RFID hardware.

My AT&T engagements included serving as the Network Supply Chain Project Manager and Functional Lead to integrate wireless network assets and supply chains that AT&T acquired from Centennial Communications, Alltel, RCC and Verizon Wireless.

I served as a Subject Matter Expert on a panel that developed the CompTIA RFID+ certification examination.  This certification presented candidates with a rigorous battery of questions designed to ensure that certified technicians were fully versed in RFID technology.

I was the lead business consultant on a team tasked with transforming GE Energy’s Contractual Services business from a manual process to an automated solution.

We implemented a commercial Enterprise Asset Management product that utilized a thick client application as the user interface.  We replaced that client application with a custom-designed web application.

My team utilized Agile methodology in three-week sprints to deliver a comprehensive solution which encompassed the entire outage maintenance lifecycle, including outage planning, parts ordering, field service ordering, and parts repair.  We utilized UX principles such as observation, interviews, prototyping and validation to design the new user interface.
