    Emily Patterson is an international lawyer with over twenty years of experience in human rights, rule of law, and development.

    She has a diverse background that includes designing and implementing programs in the rule of law and human rights fields, advocating for legal and policy change, and representing clients in Texas courts.

    Emily has served in various roles as an international technical expert and advisor in justice sector reform, fair trial rights, gender, refugees and IDPs, human rights monitoring, and strategic planning.

    With a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in Houston, she also holds a Master of Laws in Rule of Law for Development from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. Edward's University.

    Her international experience includes positions in Kosovo, Somaliland, Georgia, Montenegro, and the Philippines, working with organizations such as OSCE, UNODC, European Union, UNHCR, and others.

    Based in Houston and Brussels, Emily holds dual US and Irish nationality and is admitted to practice law in Texas.

    Throughout her career, she held key roles in organizations like State Capture: Research and Action, ILAC International Legal Assistance Consortium, American Bar Association Center for Human Rights, and many more.

    Her expertise ranges from being a consultant on civil and political rights to serving as a team leader on various human rights and justice projects.
