• Secured $2 million in new funding for world languages, repealed a 1906 policy banning students of Asian ancestry from normal public schools, strengthened anti-bullying policies.
• Laid groundwork for new K - 12 computer skills curriculum. 
• Sponsored study of girls in STEM courses. 
• Member, California School Boards Association Delegate Assembly; member, CSBA Conference Committee to curate 200+ conference sessions for 3500+ attendees from across California, 2017, 2018. • Developed first-ever session on Asian American educators for Organization of Chinese American Annual Conference, 2015.

• Led agency for over 15 years, served 5 mayors. Quadrupled agency budget from $2.5 million in 2004 to over $10 million in 2020. 
• Secured $10 million in grant funds from federal, state agencies, private foundations. 
• Managed staff of 10, including, 3 policy fellows (recent graduates). 
• Collaborated with Calvert Investments and Verite to launch the Gender Equity Principles Initiative, including an assessment tool deployed by Deloitte, Symantec, later adopted by the UN Global Compact as Women’s Empowerment Principles. 
• Launched a Gender Equity Challenge that engaged AT&T, Morgan Stanley, Pandora, Twitter, United Airlines, to showcase their gender equity policies. 
• Oversaw $8 million grants program supporting 40 non-profit programs working to end violence against women. 
• Oversaw implementation of 1998 CEDAW Ordinance, the first measure in the world to reflect the principles of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination, an international bill of rights for women. Launched "Cities for CEDAW" Campaign, now active in 75 communities across the country. 
• Partnered with city agencies and non-profits to eliminate domestic violence homicides for a historic four year period, 2010-2014. 
• Co-Founded the San Francisco Collaborative Against Human Trafficking, 2010. 
• Annually led a delegation of San Francisco Bay Area leaders to the UN Commission on the Status of Women meetings in New York to present policy initiatives based on multidisciplinary collaborations.
• Transformed the agency to become an award-winning leader in advancing women's human rights, cited in Ms. Magazine (2009) and reports of the Ford Foundation (2004) and the Columbia Law School (2012, 2014).
