Emily Mazo

Sociology PhD student

Emily Mazo is a seasoned computer science professional with extensive experience in database design, data storage, data pipelines, and infrastructure. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the prestigious California Institute of Technology, and has completed a study abroad semester at The University of Edinburgh's School of Informatics. Emily has worked at various software engineering internships, including ones at Recombine and Etsy, where she later became a Software Engineer and ultimately a Senior Software Engineer. She has also served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Baruch College, where she enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of computer scientists.

Emily's dedication to excellence and curiosity about the latest technological advancements is evident in her work as a former Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at Guttman Lab and Research Intern at Lewis Lab. In these capacities, she honed her skills in conducting in-depth research, analyzing data, and providing insightful recommendations to improve processes.
