She is the Principal at The Kleio Group, a firm she launched in the summer of 2020. The Kleio Group is not a traditional public relations or crisis management firm; instead, it employs an evidence-based approach to strategic communications, helping clients navigate complex challenges by dispelling false narratives and promoting authentic stories.12
Emily has a rich background as an investigative journalist, having covered topics such as violent crime, technology, and health for major publications like The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and ABC News. She has also hosted a top-ranked science and health podcast and frequently appears as a media commentator.12 In addition to her role at The Kleio Group, Emily is the Cofounder and CEO of The Broken Science Initiative, which aims to address issues within the medical and scientific communities by promoting rigorous and transparent research practices.34
Her career also includes co-founding Emoire LLC and Prep Cosmetics LLC, where she facilitated significant business growth and expansion into international markets. Emily holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Psychology from Smith College and a Master’s in Journalism from Northwestern's Medill School. She has also completed advanced negotiation and mediation training at Harvard Law School.12
