The mission of the Leadership Engagement And Development (L.E.A.D.) Internship Program endeavors to foster the development of fundamental elements necessary in being a student leader, and seek to increase knowledge and involvement in ASI related events and services by providing opportunities to shadow program directors, staff, and the Board of Directors. The LEAD Internship itself brings unique learning experiences to the field through experiential learning, hands-on coaching, and dynamic facilitation that empowers students to speak up, develops skills for the professional world​, and allows them to learn about their values. Associated Students, Inc. serves as the voice of student interests and promotes an enriched co-curricular university life experience. We are dedicated to fostering the development of San Francisco State's diverse student body through a commitment to shared governance. We provide and support student services and programs, maintain responsible and transparent use of funding, while encouraging external advocacy efforts. Each student is an automatic member of Associated Students, Inc. since they pay a fee for us to be able to provide free events, services, and support to enhance the students college experience. Thus, we are a multimillion dollar non-profit company here to direct, support, and develop student interests and leadership. • Elected Student Representative serving as the voice of students advocating for issues within the university in various meetings among administration, faculty, and students• Oversee & assess 7 different programs within ASI which provides students with services & resources in hopes to increase retention & graduation rates of SFSU students• Reviewed and assisted in the day to day operations of Associated Students• Developed and established a new leadership & involvement internship program within ASI (later to be called L.E.A.D. Internship.
