Emily Bentley is a dedicated professional with a passion for empowering communities in Rural Appalachian Ohio, bringing over 10 years of experience in rural public schools.
Having served as a High School Science Teacher at Logan High School, Eighth Grade Science Teacher at Bertie Middle School with Teach For America, and at The Hive Academy, an Alternative School for Boys, she has a deep understanding of the challenges and strengths of Appalachian communities.
With a background in Sociology, Anthropology, and a Master's in Public Administration from Ohio University and Earlham College, Emily now serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, where she drives initiatives to support the region's youth and communities for long-term impact.
Passionate about closing the achievement gap and supporting students in need, Emily welcomes collaborations with individuals, businesses, and organizations interested in making a difference in Rural Appalachian Ohio.
