    Emily Alvarez is a professional with a background in sustainability, architecture, and city planning, dedicated to making cities healthier, happier, and more sustainable for both people and the environment.

    Emily's experience encompasses the public, private, and non-profit sectors, having worked in roles ranging from Program Manager at StopWaste to Planner at Dyett & Bhatia Urban and Regional Planners and Assistant Planner at the City of Piedmont.

    She holds a Master of City Planning degree from the University of California, Berkeley, with a concentration in Environmental Planning and Policy, and a BA in Environmental Studies with a second concentration in Architectural Studies from Brown University.

    In addition to her professional roles, Emily has a diverse educational background that includes studying Architecture at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad and attending Staten Island Technical High School.

    Her expertise extends to sustainability and green building practices, as evidenced by her work as an Associate in the LEED department at the U.S. Green Building Council and her LEED AP BD+C credential obtained in April 2012.

    Emily has also contributed to various environmental and construction projects, having worked as a Design Trainee for the Recreation and Park Department at the City and County of San Francisco, a Project Engineer at DPR Construction, Inc., and a Summer EcoWorker at Ocean View Foundation.

    Additionally, she has shared her knowledge as a Graduate Student Instructor at the College of Environmental Design, UC Berkeley, a Teaching Assistant at the Center for Environmental Studies at Brown University, and an Intern at Domingo Gonzalez Associates.
