Ellen Eckhardt is a healthcare professional with a passion for improving interdisciplinary communication in the industry. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valparaiso University and receiving her Master's degree in Healthcare Executive Leadership and Change from Daemen College, Ellen has worked in various healthcare settings, including a surgical floor, Pediatric ICU, ECMO specialist, and Nurse Manager of an Observation Telemetry Unit. With her experience, Ellen has seen firsthand how communication breakdown can compromise patient safety, and she is a certified TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer. Ellen has led TeamSTEPPS implementation in the PICU at Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo and has shown significant improvement in communication using briefs and debriefs surrounding significant events. She is dedicated to coaching the critical components of communication and the true sense of urgency to make a difference in healthcare.
