Elizabeth Garcia is a renowned scholar with expertise in Latino/a Studies, Ethnic Studies, Feminist & Gender Studies, and Puerto Rican Studies. She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida and is affiliated with the Center for Latin American Studies. Elizabeth completed her PhD in Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Bachelor's degree in American Studies from Brown University. Her research interests include Latina Women's Literature, Latinx Children and Young Adult Literature, and the narratives of Puerto Rican women in the diaspora. Elizabeth's book named 'Healing Memories: Puerto Rican Women's Literature in the United States,' published by the University of Pittsburgh Press in 2019, analyzes the works of Puerto Rican women writers.
