Elisabeth Bentley is an accomplished screenwriter and producer known for her work in film. She gained recognition for her role in the production of A Hidden Life, a film about Franz Jagerstatter, an Austrian farmer and draft-resister during the Nazi regime. Bentley collaborated closely with Jagerstatter's widow, Franziska, and brought director Terrence Malick on board for the project, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019.12
Her previous works include Beautiful Darling, a documentary about Candy Darling, a Warhol superstar, and Nanking, which received a nomination for a Writers Guild of America Award and was shortlisted for the Documentary Oscar. Bentley's films have been showcased at prestigious festivals including Berlinale, Sundance, and Toronto. She holds a degree from Harvard College and an MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. In 2019, she founded Marginalia Pictures to innovate in legacy filmmaking.1
