    Elie Honig is a prominent American attorney, legal analyst, and author, best known for his role as the senior legal analyst for CNN. Born on April 3, 1975, in Camden, New Jersey, he grew up in Voorhees Township and Cherry Hill.     After his tenure as a federal prosecutor, Honig became the Deputy Director and later the Director of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice from 2012 to 2018. He was instrumental in implementing significant reforms including bail reform initiatives and overseeing numerous high-profile criminal cases.24 In June 2018, he joined Lowenstein Sandler LLP as Special Counsel and later transitioned to CNN as a senior legal analyst in September 2018.15

    Honig's media presence includes providing legal commentary on major news stories related to criminal justice and national security. He has also authored two books: Hatchet Man: How Bill Barr Broke the Prosecutor's Code and Corrupted the Justice Department (2021) and Untouchable: How Powerful People Get Away with It (2023) .13 Additionally, he produces a podcast titled "Up Against the Mob" and has created a documentary on the trial of Adolf Eichmann.1

    Personal Life

    Elie Honig resides in Metuchen, New Jersey, with his wife Rachael, who is also an attorney. They have two children together.12
