Elena Ponte

Elena Ponte is a multi-faceted legal professional with a diverse range of educational and professional experiences. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the prestigious University of Ottawa, a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Chemistry, Political Science, and Mathematics from McGill University, a Diploma in Chinese Law from the Renmin University of China, and a Certificate in International Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also obtained a Master of Laws degree in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Washington School of Law.

Elena is the Co-Founder of Zumo Labs and a former Research Fellow at UW Tech Policy Lab at the University of Washington School of Law. She has also served as an Associate at Herbert Smith Freehills, Legal at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and Junior Legal Aid at the Patent Policy Directorate at the Government of Canada. Her previous experiences also include being a Legal Intern at WIPO, Associate Legal Researcher at BOMBARDIER, Legal Research Assistant at Technology Policy Lab at the University of Washington, and Research Assistant at the University of Ottawa - Faculty of Law - Common Law.

Moreover, Elena has worked as a legal placement at Norton Rose Fulbright, Legal Intern at 北京德和衡律师事务所 Beijing DHH Law Firm, and a Research Intern at United Nations University - CRIS. She also completed a legal research internship at the European Economic and Social Committee.
