Ela Esra Günad is a prominent advocate for social justice and human rights, currently serving as the Acting Director of Education and Human Rights at the Hospital Employees' Union (HEU). She holds the position of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, where she has been instrumental in developing award-winning educational programs and leading advocacy campaigns that influence government policies on critical issues such as human rights, women's empowerment, and migrant justice.13
Günad has a strong academic background, having studied international relations, global advocacy, and public relations. She also possesses a Master’s degree in Human Rights Law. Her recent initiatives include launching the #LostVotes Campaign, which aims to empower young leaders to advocate for voting rights for permanent residents in municipal elections in British Columbia.1
