Her expertise includes modelling pollutant loads, data processing for river basin management, and watershed regionalization, aimed at promoting conservation measures.

Eileen is a seasoned specialist in Geo-information Science for Water Resources management with a Master's degree in Water Resources Engineering.

She has a background in working on land use planning projects and developing strategies for forest conservation in countries like Bolivia and Costa Rica.

Eileen Acosta has pursued her education diligently, earning a Master's degree in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation, Water Resources, and Environmental Management from CLAS/ITC.

Her academic journey also includes studying Agro-ecology technician and High School in Agroecología y agricultura sostenible at Colegio Técnico Profesional de Puriscal, and Master's degrees in Engenharia de Recursos Hídricos e Ambiental at Universidade Federal do Paraná and Agricultural Engineering at Universidad EARTH.

Currently, Eileen holds the position of a Freshwater Specialist at The Nature Conservancy, where she contributes significantly to freshwater ecosystem initiatives.

Prior to her role at The Nature Conservancy, she served as a GIS consultant at the International Consulting Group (ICG) and has also worked as an Especialista en Sistemas de Información Geográfica at FCBC.
