Ehsan Sichani, previously known as Ehsan Fallahi, is a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with expertise in Manufacturing and Production.
His educational journey includes a Master's Degree in Manufacturing and Production Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic, a Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing and Production Engineering from the University of Tabriz, along with a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Laser Material Processing from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, where he also completed a pre-doctoral stage in the same field.
Throughout his career, Ehsan has garnered vast theoretical knowledge and practical skills in various fabrication techniques, ranging from traditional methods like machining, sheet metal forming, and casting, to modern approaches such as welding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), Ultrasonic machining, and laser material processing.
During his time at the Mechanical Engineering Department of KULeuven, he honed his abilities by developing real-time control software for laser piercing, delving deep into MATLAB, C++, and LINUX.
His Ph.D. research was focused on designing a camera-based monitoring setup for real-time plasma detection in fusion CO2 laser cutting. This endeavor also involved creating and implementing necessary image processing algorithms using advanced LabVIEW programming methods, in collaboration with Belgian company LVD under a federally funded project.
Apart from his research commitments, Ehsan took on various roles such as organizing progress meetings, writing papers and reports, presenting at international conferences, co-supervising Master students, serving as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses, and co-authoring three successful research proposals funded by the Belgian federal Agency for Innovation by Science and Technology (IWT).
