Event Coordinator at Covenant House International

I am responsible for managing virtual and in-person fundraising events led by Covenant House International, both traditional and peer-to-peer; these events take place across Covenant House's 31 sites in 4 countries. My primary responsibilities include strategizing about and executing event logistics, data management in support of events, strategic input, managing vendor relationships, recruiting and training volunteers, guest and participant support and overseeing all tasks associated with fundraising events.

Peer-to-Peer and Special Events

- Supported Northeast Region Events Directors with regional Speaker Series, 2 Vision Seminars, 4 VisionWalks, 4 dinners, including 1 gala, 1 wine event, and 1 golf tournament, and Chapter activities through the  implementation of goals and objectives regarding overall corporate participation, attendance, communication, and day/night of event logistics• Drafted and organized event correspondence, gift acknowledgments, corporate proposals, website copy, press releases, printed materials, auction items and in-kind solicitations• Sent invitations, managed RSVP process, created and circulated an event press release in collaboration with the Communications Team and managed guests’ and donors' requests• Managed event auctions, including solicitation, data entry, item pickup and gift acknowledgement; maintained a database of items received including descriptions and fair-market values of all items; Uploaded all auction items and information onto BidPal (OneCause) mobile bidding site; closed out finances, sent invoices and donor acknowledgment letters post-event •  Recruited and managed event and in-office volunteers by articulating goals, outcomes and objectives to support activities leading up to and the day-of the event• Developed and designed promotional materials such as invitations, advertisements, posters and presentations for all events• Researched prospective event locations and funding resources, such as corporate, foundation and individual sponsors• Negotiated contracts with outside vendors; maintained invoices and managed expenses in tandem with finance team• Prepared and sent email communication to regional chapters; managed regional social media pages

Domestic Violence Intervention Project

- Selected from a pool of 500 applicants as an educational and vocational intern in India: Goa, Karnataka, Baina and Bangalore•   Assisted in teaching vocational skills to displaced women (tailoring and small-business management) in a recently-demolished 150 year old "red light district" who were either actively prostituting themselves or were at risk of being sold by their husbands or families into the human slave trade•   Facilitated the safe integration of women and children into society with positive marketable skills, education and safe harbor residences•   Taught English, Writing and Mathematics to disabled children in the same district, as well as those at risk of being sold or trafficked •   Organized a detailed English curriculum and an Evangelical program for the school•   Proliferated business development, advertising, and human service skills transferable to an array of fields
