Alexandra Byer, co-founder of RATHAUS, a production company in Brooklyn, NY, has an impressive and diverse background in producing films, music videos, and commercials. She studied Film & Media Studies and Writing Seminars at The Johns Hopkins University after completing her high school studies at The Rivers School. Alexandra has produced numerous films including Tim Sutton's FUNNY FACE and Cedric Cheung-Lau's debut feature THE MOUNTAINS ARE A DREAM THAT CALL TO ME, both of which premiered at major film festivals. Her work on Tom Quinn's COLEWELL earned her a nomination for the John Cassavetes Award at the Independent Spirit Awards. Alexandra played a crucial role in the production and distribution of award winners such as STAND CLEAR OF THE CLOSING DOORS and DARK NIGHT, which won the Lanterna Magica Prize at the 2016 Venice Film Festival. Her latest production endeavors include Diana Peralta's DE LO MIO and Matt Porterfield's SOLLERS POINT. Alexandra was also accepted into prestigious programs such as the 2015 Berlinale Talents lab and the 2016 Cannes Producer's Workshop. Before transitioning to producing, Alexandra worked as a program coordinator at the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP).
