Keith Callenberg
Keith Callenberg is an accomplished computational biology expert with over a decade of experience in machine learning, biophysics, bioinformatics, and related fields. Callenberg holds a Ph.D. in Computational Biology from both the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.S. in Computer Science with a Bioinformatics focus, and a Mathematics minor from San Jose State University.
Callenberg has held several important roles throughout his career, including serving as the Associate Director of Machine Learning at Thrive Earlier Detection Corp., where he oversees a team of experts working to detect cancer earlier with machine learning. Previously, Callenberg served as the Director of Machine Learning at UPMC Enterprises, and as a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at the same organization. He has also served as a Lead Bioinformatics Scientist at UPMC's Molecular & Genomic Pathology division and as a Senior Clinical Research Scientist at Interpace Diagnostics.
Callenberg's academic background includes time spent as a Ph.D. student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and as a Research Assistant at Iowa State University. He also has experience working in the private sector, having served as a Software Engineer for Evocative, Inc. and in Systems Maintenance at the Marin Municipal Water District.
