Douglas Blackstock

Douglas Blackstock is an expert in higher education quality assurance, with a rich history of leadership positions within the sector. He studied Public Administration at Glasgow Caledonian University, and later attended the Cranfield School of Management at Cranfield University to complete the prestigious Cranfield Business Directors Programme.

Blackstock has a vast array of experience in higher education, including tenure as Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer of The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. He has also served as a Board Member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), and has chaired and been a member of various audacious groups and development organizations within the same association.

Before his foray into higher education, Blackstock held senior management roles in several students' unions, including University of Warwick, University of the West of England, and University of Greenwich. In addition, he was previously the Depute President of NUS Scotland and worked as a manager for Ladbrokes and trainee at Inverclyde Council.
