(Pencom Software IPO) Attempted to recruit Marc Andreessen to cofound a startup with me before he released Mosaic, the first web browser, and before Jim Clark got him for Netscape. Pitched the board of directors to allow me to make a commercial web site in 1993 the moment Mosaic (Netscape) was released. They felt that if we made a web site for anything other than research or education we would alienate our firm from the UNIX software engineering community. They agreed and I coded one of the first commercial web sites on the web. I also conceived the idea and helped cofound Pencom Systems Administration (PSA) using HTML servers to create and share software libraries before the web browser came out and this later became Collective Technologies. Completed a 6-month training program in UNIX and technology.
