Arlene Modeste Knowles

Arlene Modeste Knowles is a dedicated professional in STEM diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a focus on marginalized groups in the physical sciences.

She successfully managed the AIP Task Force to Elevate the Representation of African Americans in Undergraduate Physics and Astronomy project, culminating in the release of The Time is Now report in January 2020.

Arlene brings extensive experience in developing and overseeing programs to attract underrepresented minorities to pursue careers in STEM fields.

Her specialties include diversity, equity, inclusion, marketing, program and project management, advising, idea generation, and program development.

Arlene holds a BS in Human Development & Family Studies with a Pre-Med track from Cornell University.

She has held key positions such as the TEAM UP Diversity Task Force Project Manager at the American Institute of Physics, and previously served as the Diversity Programs Administrator/Coordinator and Outreach Programs Administrator at the American Physical Society.
