Orbis MES provide manufacturing software solutions to the Food & Beverage industry. In March I was tasked with establishing our China presence by opening our first office in Shanghai.

As the first employee on the ground in China, I assumed a wide variety of roles from marketing to sales and business development. Specific tasks included:

1. Attending trade shows and exhibitions to promote Orbis software to domestic F&B manufacturers.
2. Overseeing the content creation and layout for a redesign of company website.
3. Conducting sales presentations with some of China’s largest dairy companies, and facilitating follow-up site reviews with our technical staff.
4. Assessing the viability of strategic partnerships on a domestic level.

Business Development

ISOC is a student-run organisation with the goal of bridging the gap between students and Irish companies operating in China. As a committee member I:
1.	Organised the Asia-Pacific Irish Business forum in conjunction with Irish Chamber of Commerce. Over 100 Irish business professionals working across Asia attended the event.
2.	Held multiple events in Shanghai to help connect the Irish students that had just arrived for their year abroad.
