Carrying further my appetite and success in business banking I moved title and location to begin a role a a business specialist in the City of London. Based in the flagship London branch I was the only person within my role at the site. I was responsible for the needs of sub-£2million turnover business customers. This role entailed onboarding new busines,s both start up and existing, business lending needs up to £30,000, and adhering a correct legislation and moral values. The facilitation of business growth, development, and security was integral to my approach.

Business Services Specialist

Following my successful start to the Commercial Associate role, I successfully implemented the accreditation to lending into my service.  Understanding fully the importance of this role along with the risks to both bank and customer, I appreciated and implemented the use of procedures married with the business conversations. This furthered my role to a Senior position within the site. The senior role was to aid the teams' and site performance. This was done with management skills such as data analysis to locate areas for improvement, trends, and effects. I used this information to coach individuals around various areas. This was done via one to one coaching, target use, and documentation. Building strong businesses relationships has been integral to this position. Liaising with all colleagues and various specialist teams has been vital to the success of this role.

Commercial Associate Senior– Business Telephone Banking

The role of a Commercial Associate held more responsibility & severity, and displayed my successful adaptation to the bank. After completing a 2 week long accreditation course I now had the ability to apply business lending (up to £30,000) and saving products to HSBC business customers. This role required me to have in depth business conversations, establishing the needs of many businesses and how lending/saving producst could benefit or hinder the business’s success.
Going through the application process for these products I have to adhere to strict procedures, legislation and laws. Marrying the severity of the process with providing great customer service and utilising the many skills I'd acquired whist working within business banking. This success has only strengthened my aspiration to develop myself further within the bank, using/sharing skills learnt and developing additional skills.

Commercial Associate – Business Telephone Banking

Since starting with HSBC in July I was eager for a new challenge, with longevity and personal and development. After completing a 14 week training program, I was quick to see the immense challenge in contrast to past experience I had taken on. Undeterred, I was excited by the prospects of the job and joining my team and role, I seized every opportunity to develop myself further. Getting up skilled in many/all areas within my current role, proved once more a challenge. Now having had chance to implement the new skills developed in international banking, internet banking, Commercial and Corporate card maintenance and much more. I have become a point of contact and a “go to person” for assistance and often coaching others, passing on my skills. Receiving many accreditations, from positive emails my manager has received regarding customers I have worked with, along with internal accreditations of my role and ability has reinforced a positive view on my development and I am continually striving to continue in this vein accrediting myself with further progressive roles.

HSBC – Commercial Service Associate – Business Telephone Banking

From my previous role and success within Rockafellas, I was promoted to General Manager of the company’s flagship venue; Ghost Nightclub. A 500 capacity venue requires a great deal of attention and nerve due to the duty of care for staff and customers at all times. This position compliments my ability to communicate and relate to people quickly. Within a very competitive and highly saturated market such as Leicester’s nightlife scene, I have found that the importance of a friendly face and host is more key now than ever before. I am responsible for the daily running of the venue, as well as all promotional and social output regarding the company’s events. From managing staff and stock, to basic accounting of stock and finances I have found my attitude and work ethic to overcome any issue that may arise.

Head hunted for the job role after success within Superfly People Ltd. Rockafellas offered a great challenge, as a bar with very little footfall or customer base. Through previous knowledge, hard work, clever promotions, and the creation of a large student night, I successfully increased the business’ turnover five fold within one year. Incorporating past contacts and built relationships within the industry, I was able to secure the services of the best promoters and staff. This saw the birth of Hip-hop night; Religion and addition of long running house brand; Onefifteen, in turn welcoming the likes of Tim Westwood and Miguel Campbell respectively.
During my time with Rockafellas, I learned a great deal about basic business and the importance of gross profit, profit margin, cashflow and staffing, as well as legalities such as licensing and legislation

My job role began as a glass collector where I worked extremely hard and progressed to the roll of manager in just less than one year. I was responsible for all day-to-day duties within the business, including finances, stock control and staffing, while also accountable for the sound equipment and technology used within the venue.
The venue welcomed guests such as Zane Lowe (BBC Radio One), Ms Dynamite, Jakwob and James Zebielia to name a few, meaning that standards were always very high, this taught me to really think about the personal experience of every customer, ensuring we maximised their visit – for both referral and financial reasons.
Working as part of independent business taught me a great deal about teamwork and communication within a work place, further expanded my knowledge of customer service, providing many opportunities for problem solving and having to think on my feet under pressure.

During my two years spent as a General Adult Nurse, I found this would shape my work ethic and mentality for the future. The severity of the role meant that I understood and learnt to perform my duties to the highest degree, with no margin for error. This roll gave me a wealth of academic knowledge and understanding by studying at university level.
I also learnt how to work with people from many different backgrounds and circumstances. From criminals and drug abusers, to successful businessmen and women - dealing with different walks of life during extreme circumstances helps you understand personalities immediately. I feel most importantly I learnt to work in one of the highest-pressure environments existing. Experiencing
highs such as saving a life, childbirth and giving comfort, and lows of diagnosis, disability, serious illness and death, all within the same day.
