Laura Deming
Laura Deming is a brilliant mind in the biotech industry, laser-focused on halting aging and eradicating its associated diseases. She began her journey at the early age of 8 when she realized that humanity was destined to die of aging. She went on to work in a biogerontology lab at 12 and matriculated at MIT when she was just 14. Peter Thiel recognized her exceptional talent, awarding her $100,000 when she was 17 to pursue her venture full-time as one of 20under20 fellows. Laura is now a full-time partner at The Longevity Fund, a venture capital fund that invests in companies that target aging as a way of treating disease, and has invested in gene editing, small molecule therapeutics, and novel methods to treat disease. In her previous roles, she has worked as a researcher in various laboratories, including Genentech, Weiss Lab at MIT, iGEM at MIT, and Kenyon Laboratory at UCSF.
