Kim Carr

Kim Carr is an Australian politician and academic who served as a senator for Victoria from 1993 to 2021. She is a member of the Australian Labor Party and has held several ministerial positions during her career, including Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research. Carr was born on February 2, 1955, in Melbourne, Australia, and completed a degree in economics at the University of Melbourne. She then went on to complete a Master of Arts in Australian Studies at Deakin University. Carr entered politics in 1993 when she was elected to the Australian Senate. Throughout her career, she advocated for issues such as job creation, industry development, and education reform. In addition to her political career, she has also worked as an academic, including as a lecturer at Victoria University. Carr retired from politics in 2021 after serving as a senator for 28 years.
