Edward Yip

Edward Yip is a prominent figure in the venture capital space, currently serving as a Board Member at Butter Payments since January 2023. He is also a partner at Norwest Venture Partners, where he specializes in seed, early, and late-stage investments across various sectors, including commerce and fintech. Yip joined Norwest in 2012 and has a strong background in supporting startups and entrepreneurs, particularly in the consumer internet space.

Before his role at Norwest, Yip co-founded Spree Network Inc., an early social commerce platform, and worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory Group at Evercore Partners, where he focused on technology, media, and telecom sectors. He is actively involved in the startup community in the Bay Area and has served as a mentor with Plug and Play’s Startup Camp, as well as co-founding the Dartmouth Entrepreneurs Forum.123

Yip holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both economics and environmental studies from Dartmouth College.1
