Edward Portney is a passionate Electrical Engineer with a deep-rooted interest in understanding the functionality of various systems.
With a solid academic foundation in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University, Edward focused on areas like audio engineering, signal processing, and renewable energy, ultimately unveiling his true calling as an Electrical Engineer.
During his time at Tufts, he led a successful senior design project involving a solar photovoltaic concentrating system, showcasing his skills in electronic and mechanical devices for enhancing energy efficiency.
Edward's enthusiasm for renewable energy projects was further ignited during his involvement in Team Boston for the 2009 Solar Decathlon, a collaborative effort between the Boston Architectural College and Tufts University.
Post-graduation, Edward delved into specializing in designing renewable energy systems, particularly excelling in solar photovoltaic systems with a portfolio of over 500MW of designed or commissioned projects for various scales and sectors across the United States.
In 2015, Edward obtained his Professional Electrical Engineer license in Massachusetts, adding to his list of licenses allowing him to practice engineering in multiple states including Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, California, New York, and Michigan.
Currently employed as an Electrical Engineer at Solar Design Associates, Edward continues to contribute his expertise in renewable energy systems design to drive sustainable solutions.
