Edward Kerby

Edward Kerby is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stellenbosch University with an extensive background in economics, entrepreneurship, and healthcare systems. He holds a PhD and an MSc in economic history from the London School of Economics and Political Science as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration in information systems and management from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Before entering academia, Kerby was the Managing Director for Agility Global Health Solutions in the Middle East and Africa regions. He also served as the Regional Director for Africa and Group Executive for the same company. Apart from that, Kerby has been a founding shareholder and director for Ambient Mobile, a subsidiary of Huge Telecom.
In his academic work, Kerby has published research on economic geography, industrial policy, entrepreneurial trade networks, and foreign direct investment between Asia and South Africa. His specialties include African, Asian, and Middle Eastern investment analysis, emerging market macro-economic policy, healthcare systems and policy, information management systems, business process re-engineering, mergers and acquisitions, logistics, health insurance market analysis, investment management, sales and marketing, project management, account management, investment analysis, and telecommunications entrepreneurship.
