He retired as a GS-15 Computer Engineer, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise from his extensive work at the Aviation, Missile Research & Development Center, and Software Engineering Directorate (SED) located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Edgar's notable projects during this period include leadership positions on programs involving aviation, missile systems, ground systems, tactical networks, robotics, and future combat systems. Not only did he serve as the Director for Software on the Future Combat Systems project, but he also held the prestigious role of Lead Engineer for the Army Common Operating Environment (COE). His final appointment was as the Director of the Army Virtual Lab, where he provided support to the Headquarters Army Materiel Command (AMC), Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
