Jacob Whitlow

Jacob Whitlow, a graduate from Princeton University in Electrical Engineering, and former Software Development Engineer at Amazon, is currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering at Duke University. With a passion for quantum information and computation, Jacob works closely with Professor Jungsang Kim and Professor Ken Brown's lab on the STAQ project, involving the development of a 32 qubit computer using trapped ions to test quantum algorithms, error correction schemes, and simulations. Jacob's expertise extends to designing quantum simulation experiments, including the simulation of conical intersections and vibrationally assisted energy transfer (VAET) using ion traps. Prior to Duke, Jacob honed his skills as a research intern at the University of Duisburg-Essen, an Electrical Engineer for NASA BIG IDEA Challenge at Princeton Competitive Engineering, and as an academic tutor at the McGraw Center for Learning at Princeton University.
