Eddie Byun

Eddie Byun is an accomplished Christian minister, educator, and author currently serving as the Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program and Associate Professor of Christian Ministry at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University.124 He has held these positions since October 2020 and December 2019, respectively.2

Dr. Byun's educational background includes:

• B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
• M.Div. from Regent College
• D.Min. in Preaching from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary2

Throughout his 25-year career in pastoral ministry, Dr. Byun has served in various roles:

• Lead Pastor at Onnuri English Ministry and Crossway Mission Church in Seoul, South Korea
• Founding and Lead Pastor at New Life Worship in Sydney, Australia
• Professor of Practical Theology at Torch Trinity Graduate University
• Teaching and Missions Pastor at Venture Christian Church in San Jose, California23

Dr. Byun is known for his work in three main areas:

1. Justice: He has been involved in helping vulnerable groups, including trafficked victims, orphans, and refugees in Korea and Southeast Asia.3
2. Missions: He has traveled to over 30 countries for mission work.3

Dr. Byun is married to Ally, and they have a son named Enoch. They currently reside in Irvine, California.3
