ARM is a Solution Integrator that provides Professional Services as well as Software Solutions. ARM works primarily with partners (such as Ricoh Australia, Ricoh NZ, Ephesoft, OpenText and Kofax) to implement the solutions for their customers. ARM is often involved in the Sales process for these opportunities.

At ARM I have a multi-faceted role:
Resource Manager
I manage the team at ARM, including Sales Consultants, Solution Architects, Developers, Graduate Developers and Support Engineers. I am responsible for recruiting, career development and performance management of the team.

Project Manager
I am responsible for planning, tracking and reporting on all ARM projects. This includes project and portfolio profitability.

Senior Sales Consultant
I am responsible for development and review of Sales Proposals, Solution Estimates, Statement or Work, Solution Design, and Business Requirements. Along with authoring these documents I also review the ARM Sales Consultants work to ensure quality.

Subject Matter Expert
As I have over 28 years’ experience across this domain in Workflow/BPM, ECM, and Software Development, I work closely with the ARM team to ensure best practices are followed.

- Once the Project commenced, participated as the Solution Architect representing Wealth Management (Colonial First State, GAM and CommInsure) business units system requirements.

Responsible for managing the various teams that provide development of enhancements and ongoing support for the systems. Also utilising expertise in FileNET technology to improve the usage of the existing technology, and provide a strategic plan for future use of the technology.

- SDM for Implementation of Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) with the FileNET Imaging and Workflow System (Edgar) - 2001 to 2003

- SDM for HR Document Management System – 2002

- SDM for Cflow – new Imaging Workflow solution for CommInsure - 2003 to 2004

- SDM for migration of Edgar FileNET backend to the new Cflow FileNET Backend – 2004 to 2005

- SDM for Insight Phase 1 and Phase 2 - 2007 to 2009
The Insight project was to replace the existing Edgar Imaging and Workflow system with an Intuitive, Single View of Customer interface for Wealth Management, with initial phases focused on Colonial First State. Current business processes were based on the Edgar Workflow and the mainframe Registry system. Whilst this was efficient, the training effort for staff was large. Call Centre staff turnovers meant that this had a direct impact on the end customer.

- SDM for Data Centre Consolidation 2009 to 2011
As CFS will be relocating from 52 Martin Place to a new building in Darling Harbour, it is required to move all servers from the Data Centre to the Bank Wide data centres. As the vast majority of these servers are older than three (3) years, it is also mandated that a simple “lift-and-shift” is not appropriate.

Solution Delivery Manager

Systems Manager for multiple systems. This involved:
- Recommending changes to the system, with defined business benefits, based on business needs, new technologies, knowledge of the system, performance analysis,
- Supervising the management and execution of any enhancements made to Systems
- Managing relationships with suppliers (IBM, FileNET, Oracle, SUN)
- Planning for compliance upgrades and software releases
- Ensuring change management practices were followed by various development teams
CBA engaged multiple Technology Partners in 2007 to manage existing systems and to provide Support and maintenance. After assisting with the knowledge transfer to the partners my role in this area became Subject Matter Expert for these systems, whilst still acting as Systems Manager for any changes provided by the partners.
Systems included:

Edgar - This system was used by the Colonial First State Business to scan inbound customer correspondence. Once scanned the images are made available in seconds for categorization, and subsequent processing against Backend Registry system. Decommissioned in 2009, and replaced by Insight application. User base of 450 users. Same day turnaround for 80% of inbound correspondence.

Cflow – This system is used by CommInsure to manage inbound correspondence, and also to service customer calls in relation to the Insurance business. Sits on the same backend FileNET Imaging system as Edgar. User base around 1,200 users with operating hours of 7 days. During emergencies (eg Flooding in Queensland, bushfires in Victoria) the system becomes 24/7 to assist call centers service customer needs.

OSF Cflow – Modified version of Cflow for the CBA’s Officers Super Fund. Decommissioned in 2009 and replaced by Insight.

CFS Intranet – Intranet for the CFS division. Provided the Business Unit self-service capability to change the content within the Intranet.
