Engineering Leader and Data Nerd
I’m an experienced technology leader, data nerd, and mentor.
Deepest technical experience includes cloud-based systems/AWS and Google, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Tableau, Terraform, Snowflake, Agile/SAFe, and Azure.
I have built, scaled, optimized, and migrated many cloud-based, data warehousing systems and physical data centers for companies in startup and scaleup mode.
I do my best to contribute to the incredible Portland Technology Community as part of the Steering Committee for the Oregon SQL Developer’s Group, Portland PostgreSQL User group, Portland Code Camp, SQL Saturday, OSCON, and Open Source Bridge.
My hobbies reveal what a true nerd I am, and always will be. I’ve built my own 3D printer, love my Raspberry Pi, and have several 75% complete Arduino projects. I’m an enthusiastic but below-average gamer.
I like to get things done, and I like to laugh. I love it when the two aren’t mutually exclusive. It’s a great approach for leadership. It also helps when speaking fluent nerd to non-technical people.
