William Charnock is a seasoned advertising and marketing expert who has made a name for himself working with global brands such as Ogilvy, BBDO, and JWT for over 20 years. His work has been recognized with numerous awards from Cannes Grand Prix to D&AD pencils and Grand Effie’s, including winning the first TED 'Ads worth spreading' award in 2011. Charnock's expertise in advertising led him to join R/GA as their first-ever Global Chief Strategy Officer, where he could re-evaluate and re-define the marketing landscape in the digital era.

In 2014, Charnock became the Chief Marketing Officer of a start-up called Everplans.com, which aimed to change how people organize their lives and prepare for death. Afterward, he created his own consulting business, Alteration Advisors, where he assisted founders, innovators, global businesses, and start-ups in transforming and disrupting their industries. As an active member of the advertising community, he's still a member of the Ad Council's Creative Review Committee.

Having advised Acumen for almost a decade, Charnock became a full-time Chief Marketing Officer there in 2019. Acumen is an organization dedicated to changing how the world tackles poverty.
