Jason Carney is a seasoned IT expert with 13 years of experience in creating efficiencies and compliance for complex and data-driven systems. He boasts a talent for methodically auditing critical IT systems in finance, information security, IT governance, and more. With sales savvy and unmatched people skills, he motivates teams and creates buy-ins for cross-functional teams. Jason has held several leadership roles, including Senior IT Auditor at MoneyGram International, IT Internal Audit Project Lead at TCF Bank, and Senior Manager at DCSI @ Department of Justice.
At the University of North Dakota, Jason pursued two Bachelor of Business Administration degrees with majors in Financial Management and Information Systems. He further pursued a Bachelor of Accountancy degree before proceeding to the University of St. Thomas School of Law and obtaining a Doctor of Law degree. Jason also studied Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Certification at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
Throughout his career, Jason has made significant contributions to various organizations. He led the on-time and on-budget project, closing $5 billion of appropriations across 35 different federal funds. He also designed new processes that supported accelerated financial reporting for the nine Department of Justice components. He is a specialist in IT Audit, Cybersecurity, Internal Controls, Project Management, ACL, and Data Extraction, among others.
