Roberta Christopher EdD MSN APRN NE-BC CAIF
Roberta Christopher, EdD, MSN, APRN, NE-BC, CAIF, is an accomplished nursing educator and informaticist who specializes in integrating human caring science and appreciative inquiry into healthcare curricula and virtual patient experiences. With over 20 years of experience in nursing, she received her BSN and MSN from the University of North Florida and completed her doctorate in educational leadership at the University of Phoenix.
Dr. Christopher's doctoral research focused on the correlation between presenteeism, absenteeism, nurse safety outcomes, and quality of care. She is a certified nurse executive with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and a healthcare technology specialist clinician/practitioner consultant certified by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Dr. Christopher is also a Certified Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator and has received advanced training in electronic health record (EMR) report writing, inpatient clinical documentation, and EPIC hospital outpatient departments, maternal child module, emergency department module, oncology module, research, and business intelligence reporting.
As an Assistant Professor in the BRCHS Keigwin School of Nursing at Jacksonville University, Dr. Christopher is currently authoring a chapter on the use of human caring in virtual, simulated patient experiences, which will be included in the second edition of Creating a Caring Science Curriculum: An Emancipatory Pedagogy for Nursing. Her research interests also include the integration of joy into healthcare experiences and reducing burnout and compassion fatigue in nursing.
