The US Forest Service is a large federal, natural resource agency with management responsibility for 193 million acres of American forests.During this time, I provided strategic leadership for national/regional efforts of the U.S. Forest Service to develop organizational capabilities to respond to ever-changing and emerging business conditions. This also involved facilitating complex dialogue on changes to succession planning process.My contributions included developing a national succession plan, which re-shaped the way the U.S. develops leaders responding to emergencies and natural disasters. I also equipped high-potential talent with the professional qualifications and leadership readiness needed to advance.

Organizational and Workforce Development Manager

- As Chief of Staff, I served as a senior-level advisor to  the national director responsible for fire management and suppression on National Forests during one of our most intense fire seasons in recent history. As a result, we implemented  national policy changes that paved the way to build a top-performing culture.== As a Management Analyst, I strengthened the Southeast region's partnerships with state government during a period of major budget shortages. This involved bridging the gaps between federal and state program managers on divisive topics related to change. == As a Deputy Forest Supervisor, I oversaw the management of 850K-acre Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in Georgia. As a result, I helped position the forest for the best future by directing team of 4 leaders and 130 employees in strategic design and facilitation.

In this prestigious 2-year program, I helped serve the leadership development pipeline for recruitment of talented employees into the federal government.  This included improving the organizational effectiveness in our 13-state Southeastern region by leading several high-profile change initiatives.

Early in my career, I provided programmatic support for a newly funded pilot project, including it’s Director and a 10-member international team. This entailed improving each project manager's ability to implement the pilot locally.Highlights included training international conservation leaders to change the way their communities related to nature.
